Matt’s first studio experience, happened in 1989 when he landed the voice of “Kevin” in Captain N the Game Master for NBC. That magic session blew the doors wide open to the world of cartoons. For 30 years through to the present, he’s made millions of kids laugh around the Planet, being the voice behind characters like: “Ed” on Ed, Edd and Eddy, Cartoon Networks highest rated show, “Raphael” on Fox Kids – “Turtles the Next Mutation”, “Tender Heart” on the “Care Bears,” “Metal Head”on “GI-Joe Extreme,” “Finn” on “Storm Hawks”, “Peter Pan” voicing “Peter.”
For 78 episodes he got to play “Ton Ton” on “Dino Trux.” for Dream Works – seen on Netlfix, – being recognized by the Producers with an award nomination.
He joined the cast of “My Little Pony” playing Soar’in”, he was “Tyler” on “Super Noobs” – for C.N.
“Kate & Mim Mim” – playing “Tach, ”Skeebo” on “Pac-Man and the Ghostly Adventures.” And a very special experience was being cast to voice the title role of “Kom” with screen legends, Sir John Hurt and Rick Mayal in the animated feature, “A Monkey’s Tale.” also garnering multiple International awards.
Matt has also lent his voice to some of the world’s more popular Anime characters such as: “Kira” on Gundam Seed and Destiny, “Kero” on Cardcaptors, “Ironhide” and “Carlos” on Transformers, “Bankotsu” on Inuyasha, “Ryo” on Ronin Warriors, and “Kevin” on X-Men and just finished 100 episodes of “Beyblade Burst.”
Matt’s also lent his voice to hundreds of radio and television commercial campaigns for organizations such as; Good Times Restaurant, Boston Pizza, California Pizza Kitchen, Gatorade, Coors Brewing, Nike, Honda, Telus, Ford, Volkswagen, Sprint, The Bread Garden, McDonald’s, Molson Canadian, Chevrolet and Granville Island Brewing.
In 2016 Matt was awarded the “Meritorious Service Medal” from former Governor General of Canada, the right honourable David Johnston, for his work inspiring children around North America on his mission for a healthy Earth called, Run for One Planet. It was his passion for kids and sharing his voices via the characters they were growing up with, that was the key to connecting their Planet message with over 50,000 kids.
“Never underestimate the power of your dreams” is Matt’s desire to teach and assist the student to find their voice and release that super hero inside them!
