For Susan Roman, working in the world of animation for most of her adult life has been a dream come true. Okay, some of her earlier projects didn’t exactly light up the galaxy. But along the way, she worked on what turned out to be mainstream classics, voicing characters such as Champ Bear in the original “Care Bears” series, Melissa Raccoon in “The Raccoons”, Sara Lyn and Eddie in Fisher-Price “Little People” and, as Snowy the Dog, she barked her way through a series that has become a fan favourite worldwide, “The Adventures of TinTin”. In what was a huge departure from children’s animation, she was cast as the speaking voice of Debbie Harry in “Rock & Rule”, a ground-breaking animated film for adults. This was followed by another cult classic, “Heavy Metal”, in which she played The Girl in The Harry Canyon Sequence. As a professional voice actor, Susan is proficient in many disciplines: dubbing (“Beyblade”, “Bakugan”, “Power Stone”), narration (“Sexual Secrets”/Discovery), station announcer (Viva Network/Corus), and countless commercial voiceovers. She is an enthusiastic proponent of the Canadian audiobook industry and has directed numerous audiobooks for Penguin Random House Canada, a dream job that has enhanced her appreciation for the talent pool in this country. Susan is probably best known for her role as Sailor Jupiter in the original English dub of “Sailor Moon”.
